The Asian Women’s Resource Centre (AWRC) is a feminist organization whose values are founded on commitments to human rights, anti-discrimination and freedom from oppression. We endorse global evidence that violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence is gendered, a cause and consequence of the unequal position of women and girls in society, a violation of human rights, and is entirely preventable.
Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days office-based)
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term until March 2027 (with possible extension, subject to funding)
Annual Leave: 25 days per year About the RoleWe are seeking a highly organised and motivated Business Support Officer to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our organisation. This is a pivotal post within AWRC’s operations team ; supporting the Director, senior management, and frontline staff by providing high-quality administrative, project, and operational support. You’ll be the first point of contact for internal coordination, managing information systems, supporting events, and ensuring that AWRC’s vital services are delivered efficiently and effectively. You will thrive in a busy environment, be confident managing multiple priorities, and enjoy helping a values-driven team make a meaningful difference in the lives of women and girls.
About YouYou are an efficient multitasker with a strong attention to detail and a passion for supporting an organisation that champions women’s rights. You enjoy solving problems, streamlining systems, and creating order in a busy environment. Essential experience and skills include: - Proven experience in an administrative or business support role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks.
- High level of IT proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, CRM or case management systems).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Commitment to AWRC’s feminist values and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable: - Experience working in a charity, community, or women’s organisation.
- Understanding of issues affecting women experiencing domestic or sexual violence.
- Office management or related qualification.
- Ability to speak at least one community language (e.g. Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Arabic).
