Perform machine installations and preventative maintenance at client facilities. Utilize engineering principles to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve equipment issues. Repair pneumatics, valves, actuators, and control flows; pre-emptively inspect machines and prevent technical issues before they occur. Apply knowledge of mechanics, bearings, ball screws, bushings, complex assemblies, screw extractions, and thread repairs to effectively service company machines. Lead component replacements. Interpret specialized electrical schematics, voltage and resistance readings, and other detailed reports, to ensure alignment with company standards. Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to service management principles. Interpret and analyze technical diagrams and manuals and explain technical information to clients. Provide technical training to clients on how to use and optimize company machines. Provide in-depth technical training to other Technicians to expand their knowledge of company’s technology and improve their troubleshooting skills. Attend trade shows and exhibitions as technical support for the machine installations. Rate of Pay: $90,230 - $103,000 per year. Travel required: Up to 70% travel across the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
8 years of relevant experience as a Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, Electronics Technician, or alternate related acceptable occupation. Work or academic experience must include: - Performing the installation and commissioning of Advanced Automation Edgers. This includes performing the physical installation and initial configuration of optical edging machines, and conducting commissioning tests to verify that lens mapping, cutting and drilling patterns, and grooving capabilities, operate strictly according to company specifications and client production requirements.
- Performing specialized preventive maintenance tailored for Advanced Automation Edgers such as inspection of all the critical machine parts, including checking loading/unloading systems, polishing devices, software functioning, lens tracer system, axis play. Scheduled replacement of critical wear components like spindles, motors, ball screws, cameras, computer parts.
- High-Precision calibration and alignment of mechanical and optical systems, including fine-tuning axis movements parts, optical camera systems, laser optical power measurement.
- Providing customer technical support guiding clients through complex tasks and troubleshooting procedures, both on-site and remotely.
- Providing comprehensive training to client personnel on the optimal operation of Advanced Automation Edgers.
- Providing field feedback and continuous improvement collaboration to an engineering and research & development (R&D) team.
- Documenting observations on machine performance, identifying recurring issues, suggesting potential design enhancements, and reporting on emerging industry needs.
Travel required: Up to 70% travel across the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
