For a prominent client and a leader in its sector, belonging to a large multinational group we are seeking an experienced Embedded Software and Firmware Engineer who will be instrumental in the design, development, and integration of embedded systems for our next-generation ATE product. This is a strategic role that requires technical expertise, hands-on experience in low-level software development, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, and applications engineers.
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for custom hardware platforms used in ATE systems.
- Write and optimize low-level firmware (device drivers, real-time OS components, communication protocols, etc.).
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define hardware-software interfaces and ensure seamless integration.
- Participate in system-level design reviews and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Debug complex issues involving hardware and software interactions using lab instruments and diagnostic tools.
- Ensure software meets high standards of reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute to product documentation.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering (preferred Embedded Systems) or related field.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development in C/C++.
- Proven experience developing software for microcontrollers, SoCs, FPGAs, or similar embedded platforms.
- Solid understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and multithreaded programming
- Experience with debugging tools: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
- Comfortable working with schematics, datasheets, and collaborating with hardware teams.
- Good English Knowledge (B1 or higher).
Preferred Qualifications (at least one of these): Knowledge of FPGA interfacing, VHDL-based design, and/or STM32 uC (H7 dual core), STM32CubeIDE, EtherCAT, Eclipse Zenoh, Linux Embedded, YOCTO, FreeRTOS.
